Belgium was chosen to host the 2025 World J80 Championships! This will take place in Nieuwpoort, from July 7 to 11, 2025. The Belgian J/80 class, with the support of the KYCN (Koninklijke Yacht Club Nieuwpoort) and the VYN (Vlaamse Yachthaven Nieuwpoort), fervently defended the candidacy before an international jury, so it promises to be a memorable week!
Due to the large field of participants, the level has risen sharply in recent years, both within Belgium and internationally. Both clubs have a long and extensive experience in organizing sporting and social events (Nieuwpoort Week, Captains of Industry, NIBS, …).
Belgium emerged as an ideal choice as the host country for the 2025 World Championships, with its central location in Europe, exceptional club facilities and its growing fleet of J/80s.
