The Vlaamse Vaarschool is a merger of the Vlaamse Motorvaartschool and the Vlaamse Zeezeilschool. Almost 50 years of training expertise has flowed together in the Flemish Sailing School, for both the novice and the already more experienced powerboater or sailor. This is evaluated every year and adapted to current standards where necessary. The Vlaamse Vaarschool is a partner of VYN, and therefore as a member you also get an 8% discount on all courses (theory and practice)!
Learning on the water, from initiation to yachtman
There are plenty of practical courses, for all levels. Would you like a taste of sea sailing with an initiation, brush up on your steering skills with a course on port maneuvers, do a long sailing trip, or take your practical sailing license exam? There are always max. 4 students on board, so there is enough attention and time for everyone. More than 40 certified instructors are waiting for you, on one of the 8 boats in the fleet.

Refresh, retrain, obtain a pilot’s license or GMDSS src?
The Flemish Sailing School also offers a lot of theoretical courses. For yourself as a skipper, your partner or children, to refresh or start, there is always something to learn.

VTS certified instructors
For our courses we rely on about 40 motivated trainers, all certified by the Flemish Trainers School VTS. After strict admission requirements, they must pass theoretical and practical tests. They received 140 hours of training and completed an internship at our school. With regular refresher courses, our instructors not only stay up to date, but also keep abreast of the most recent developments in both sailing techniques and pedagogy.
