Sailing to the UK
- Don’t forget your international passport!
- Apply for your ETA document
- Indicate that you are leaving the Schengen zone via this online document
- Indicate that you are entering the UK through this online document
- Upon arrival: hoist the yellow Q flag (Quarantine)
- On arrival: contact national yachtline +44 (0)300 123 2012
- Persons wishing to bring a pet would do well to check the rules regarding this.

Be careful with red diesel! In the UK red diesel is often offered in marinas, when returning to Belgium you may be fined if red is found in your fuel
Going to the EU / Schengen zone
- Bring your international passport
- Fill out the Schengenform so the local EU authorities are informed.
- Tell Border Force and HMRC you are sailing from the UK to the EU in a pleasure craft
- Contact official Belgian maritime border crossing points upon arrival
