Inauguration du FENRIR

Après des années de dévouement, de recherche et de savoir-faire artisanal, le moment est enfin arrivé : le Fenrir est prêt à conquérir les eaux.

Le dimanche 5 juillet, Chris Vanbelle amènera le navire au VYN à Nieuwpoort, où il sera officiellement baptisé selon la tradition, en présence de la communauté viking. Cet événement exceptionnel marque non seulement l’aboutissement d’un projet de construction remarquable, mais aussi le début d’une nouvelle aventure sur l’eau.

Le Fenrir est bien plus qu’un navire. Il rend hommage au patrimoine maritime des Vikings, construit dans le respect des connaissances historiques, des techniques traditionnelles et de la passion de toutes les personnes impliquées. Cet après-midi festif sera donc consacré non seulement au baptême du navire, mais aussi à la culture, aux métiers d’art et aux traditions qui font revivre l’univers viking.

Inauguration of FENRIR

After years of dedication, research, and craftsmanship, the moment has finally arrived: Fenrir is ready to take to the water.

On dimanche, July 5, Chris Vanbelle will bring the vessel to VYN in Nieuwpoort, where it will be officially christened according to tradition together with the Viking community. This special event marks not only the completion of an exceptional shipbuilding project, but also the beginning of a new adventure on the water.

Fenrir is more than a ship. She is a tribute to the Vikings’ maritime heritage, built with respect for historical knowledge, traditional techniques, and the passion of everyone involved. This festive afternoon will therefore celebrate not only the christening itself, but also the culture, crafts, and traditions that bring the Viking world to life.
